Antigua & Barbuda Search And Rescue (ABSAR)

Saving lives. Building community resilience. So that others may live.

Our mission is to save lives and strengthen community resilience through 24/7 search and rescue, medical response, and emergency support across Antigua and Barbuda.

In 1997, a failed rescue at sea revealed the urgent need for a local search and rescue service. From that moment, ABSAR was born.

What started as a small group of volunteers has grown into Antigua and Barbuda’s official search and rescue organization — operating 24/7 to protect life on land and at sea.

Born from tragedy. Built on courage.
